OVERVIEW

Avoid the crowds and explore the beautiful city of Lima in comfort and style on this private tour. This tour will show you the most iconic sites in the ‘City of Kings’, Lima. You will also visit the renowned Larco museum which features many fine examples of pre-Columbian art. The tour includes hotel pick-up and drop off and private transportation to all attractions.

ITINERARY

We begin our tour by picking you up from your hotel at the scheduled time, this tour showcases Lima through its three historical periods: Pre-Hispanic, Colonial, and Modern.

CONTEMPORARY LIMA:

We will visit the most traditional residential areas of Lima, including San Isidro, Miraflores, and Larcomar.

ANCIENT LIMA:

Our tour begins with a panoramic view of “Huaca Pucllana,” a magnificent ceremonial and archaeological center built in the 4th century A.D., considered a “Sacred Village” by the Incas. The Viceroyalty of Peru was the most important of the Spanish Empire, and Lima was its capital.

COLONIAL LIMA:

We will visit Lima’s Historic Center, where you will see more than fifty colonial monuments and buildings, including the Paseo de la República, San Martín Square, the Main Square, the Government Palace, the Archbishop’s Palace, the Cathedral Basilica, and the Municipal Palace, among others.

We will also visit the Convent of Santo Domingo, known for its Sevillian-style cloister. It was here that the oldest university in South America was founded and where the remains of Peru’s saints—Santa Rosa de Lima, San Martín de Porres, and San Juan Macías—are preserved.

Next, we will visit the Larco Museum, considered a must-see by travel experts and undoubtedly one of the best museums in Latin America. Housed in an 18th-century viceregal mansion built atop a 7th-century pre-Columbian pyramid, the museum is surrounded by beautiful gardens. Its new galleries display the world’s most complete collection of Pre-Columbian gold and silver, as well as its famous collection of erotic ceramics.

At the end of the tour, we will return passengers to their hotels.
If the Convent of Santo Domingo is closed, we will visit the Convent of San Francisco instead.
